Duchamp argues, One can already wonder if the one that splits himself into two is able to understand himself.
The two viewers who face each other, or who succeed each other at the peepholes, we admit that they can look at
each other seeing, but since they can't hear hearing it is out of the question that they hear one another.
The reconciliation takes place, if it takes place, between the individual viewer and the object, but not
between the viewers. In other words, consensus is not necessary to transform the crowd into a public.
And since the work disappears behind the horizon, and since it basically shows nothing but the fetish where
all gazes are trapped, the number of the crowd is raised to the power of the number that defines the encounter
of the viewer with himself or with the Other: 3²=9. Consequently the crowd looking at itself seeing, and not
hearing itself hearing or the Other: 9 x 9.
Unique Selling Point is a lecture/performance reflecting the work of 9 x 9
but in the most intimate format of a crowd or mass: the duo. The presentation
inspects a number of different organisations of mass, crowd and the collective body from a
choreographic point of view, bring itself and the viewer on trajectories of observations out
of the corner of the eye.

Competition. Oh dear! Unfortunately this aggravating obstacle keeps getting in
the way of our first million. Or perhaps in your case your second. But with so many people
selling almost identical products, it's often difficult to tell the difference. So how do
you persuade your prospect to buy yours, and not one of the dozens of others so readily
available? Obviously you have to stand out from the crowd. If you're competing in a crowded
marketplace you must at least appear different. How? You've obviously seen the answer in the
headline. You have to isolate your product's Unique Selling Point and THRUST IT at him.
If you don't, you're dead in the water.

währenddessen zahlreiche Tanzworkshops in Belgien und andernorts,
stark beeinflußt durch Min Tanaka, Elaine Summers und die Alexandertechnik.
In den letzten Jahren verstärkte Zusammenarbeit mit David Hernandez und
Meg Stuart, seit 1990 Mitglied von Les Ballets C. de la B.,
seit 2000 arbeitet sie an ihrem Projekt 9x9,
das von Masse und Multiplizität handelt.
Mårten Spångberg, Performer, Dramaturg, Kritiker.
Studierte Musik-, Theater und Tanzwissenschaften sowie
Ästhetik an der Universität von Uppsala, Initiator und Koordinator
des Panacea Festivals in Stockholm, seit 1998 Performances, zahlreiche
Vorträge und Veröffentlichungen,
Gastprofessor an der Universität Gießen Institut für angewandte
Theaterwissenschaften im Frühjahr 2000, Dramaturg des Projektes 9x9.
